CAMP is in session
September 22-24, 2026
Marblehead, MA USA
Distill your unbeatable lane in the market, at the intersection of what you know, what you love, and what the world needs now.
Time to Invest in Future You
What We'll Do
Day 1: Credible Expertise - Deep Dive
I’ll lead you through a unique exploration of what you’ve done, for pay, in an exercise I created called The Problem Ladder™ which has 2 parts. You’ll look at the path you’ve taken with fresh eyes and a vantage point that showcases your work (or entrepreneurial endeavors) and decodes it into core audiences served and problems profitably solved. This activity is organic, focused, and fun – and forms the crucial foundation of our personal treasure hunt at Camp.
The Problem Ladder™ Part 1 involves capturing and discussing what others have paid you to do and looks for patterns, both obvious and implied. This exercise reflects the ‘public’ face you typically present to the world – on your resume, your website, and your professional account(s) on social media – and takes it a step further by making you a Time Traveler with a very specific, and important, mission.
Back home, you’ll take the output of Part 1 and use it to fuel Part 2, back home, which examines the ‘meta’ level problems you’ve solved, over and over, in your lifetime. The meta problems point to your areas of deep expertise and where you’ll be seen as highly credible by your core audience. The Problem Ladder tools offer a creative method for reconsidering the literal, direct problems you’ve expertly solved as a trail of breadcrumbs that lead you toward thought-provoking, ‘higher level’ applications of the solutions you’ve provided to previous buyers, clients, customers or employers.
These new applications can lead to surprising new markets for your expertise — often with larger and/or more premium earning potential.
More to be revealed at Camp……..
The Category of One Process™ continues to evolve – Amy Gray and her business reserve the right to modify, substitute or remove any/all specific tools and exercises at Camp to ensure the curriculum is most relevant and effective.
Day 2: Personal Obsessions for the WIN
This the day at Camp will make you wonder: What does this work have to do with my paid speaking, or consulting, or writing?
Most people don’t consider their personal obsessions as essential to their work.
- If you aspire to average or slightly above: That is true.
- If you aspire to excellence and premium earnings: I know better.
To create the most brilliantly special, deeply powerful, premium products and services – you must identify the most promising areas of overlap between your obsessions and expertise. The more your work incorporates what makes you ‘tick,’ the more compelling and original it will be for your buyers — and the more naturally enjoyable and ‘effortless’ it will feel for YOU.
Obsessions, values, self-motivated curiosity, personal preferences, and your ‘flow’ state generators show up over and over in your life. They are often so close to you that you cannot easily spot them. Our efforts on Day 2 will use unusual prompts and reverse engineering to make them visible. These elements deliver nuance, mastery, depth and surprise to your Category of One. The exploration of your obsessions provides a ha’s and insights that make your Category of One extraordinary. The Chart Your Course™ exercise will be used to map your answers into your life to date. You will stand back and review the chart as a whole…..and be astonished at what emerges. If you have difficulty talking about yourself and personal matters: You are not alone….AND I must ask you to trust me about the importance of this work to arrive at your ‘highest/best’ fit Category of One. If you shut down on Day 2, you will eliminate 50% of the rocket fuel you could be using to power something TRULY special. Day 2 is energy intensive and the single-most important part of the 2.5 days we have. The reward? We close Camp at 5pm and take a breather, before meeting up at a VERY special, secret meeting spot in town that operates as the perfect metaphor for Category of One Camp. We’ll enjoy a creative beverage of your choice – alcoholic or non – and decompress, together, after 2 full days of effort. We’ll follow that with dinner at a special restaurant nearby.
Important note: The work around your obsessions requires personal disclosure, self-awareness, and reflection. The process can be challenging if you are a highly visible public figure and/or a deeply private person. Resist the urge to clam up or offer surface level answers to the exercises and prompts. What may at first appear to be unrelated to your work will make sense in the end. (If you aren’t comfortable talking about private matters in a small group setting, I recommend investing in a private, 1:1 delivery of Camp, or one of my Luxe Category of One Immersions where I come to YOU and do all the heavy lifting. Please inquire for more details.
The Category of One Process™continues to evolve – we reserve the right to substitute, modify, or remove any/all specific tools and exercises at Camp at our discretion, to ensure the most relevant and effective content delivery.
Day 3: HALF DAY - Ends at Noon / What do you want to attract - and what does the world need now?
You want to distill your Category of One to achieve specific outcomes – let’s make those outcomes and expectations visible.
- What would you like to attract?
- Why are these outcomes vitally important?
My clients are ambitious, successful, intelligent, and highly motivated. They are serial entrepreneurs, iconic figures, accomplished executives, creators, founders, best-selling authors, TED all-stars, Grammy nominated musicians and singers, Olympic athletes and medalists, actors, gurus of hospitality, cybersecurity, and K-12 education, experts from the Oprah Show, revered faculty from top US business schools, executive coaches, family therapists, and . I call them the League of Extraordinary and my work with them attracted more of what lit them up: Lucrative paid speaking, bulk book sales, business opportunities, clever wealth building ideas, more followers, inspiration for their ‘next big idea,’ and more. You are welcome in that League, too – and I want to know what you wish to attract more of.
Then, we’ll step back and look at the ‘meta’ trends in the world- now and for the next 12 months. We’ll brainstorm together around trends we are personally experiencing and observing that can add ‘wind’ to the sails of your Category of One work. On the flip side, we’ll also consider what trends may hinder it. I’ll share my insider knowledge on which evergreen topical areas enjoy consistent, high demand in the corporate-audience sector for paid speaking — the most lucrative market in the world.
Then, you’ll contemplate how your unique blend of expertise and obsession might powerfully align with one or more those areas.
You’ll depart Camp with:
- an overview of the full 6-step process,
- an initial baseline in current market trend knowledge,
- your personal obsession inventory – which you will continue to deepen and distill,
- a clever catalog for your credible expertise,
- the materials you completed on-site (after photos are taken to document them for the Camp archives)
POST CAMP: I send you The Category of One Milestone Map™ which allows you to take your baseline data and use it to refine YOUR Category of One concept over the coming weeks and months. I’ll also provide the calendar link to enjoy a gratis, 6-month invitation to my bi-weekly, OPEN OFFICE HOUR for Category of One Process alumni. Come with questions, share your successes, get feedback on your CoO positioning, meet other alums, and enjoy the community.
The Category of One Process™continues to evolve – we reserve the right to substitute, modify, add or remove any/all specific tools and exercises at Camp without prior notice.

of connection
Return home with clear instructions on how to take the raw materials unearthed at Camp to distill and refine your Category of One over the coming weeks and months after Camp. This is not a quick ‘fix’ – it is deep, important work and worth it.
CAMP: The MORE AFFORDABLE way to ARRIVE AT your category of One
I created the 6-Step Category of One Process™ after recognizing crucial patterns in my work with celebrity and rising celebrity clients over the past twenty-five years. Those who achieved jaw-dropping results, sustainably, with their paid speaking — often starting at essentially ZERO in paid speaking — shared essential qualities. Each was an indisputable, credible expert in their chosen field — but those who hit the stratosphere of selective, lucrative paid speaking income benefited from a few other elements. The Category of One Process makes those elements visible, practical and actionable.
Success required being seen as the stand out option in a sea of “same.” That position attracted attention and opportunities.
You must do the same. You must focus on your Category of One. This singular, gorgeous position serves as a clarion call to those desperately looking for what only you can provide. The Category of One Process™ distills your best combination of obsession and expertise, to address a deeply painful market need. You signal confidence & clarity to your ‘best fit’ market — and that attracts interest, energy and income.
My luxe Category of One Immersions™ offer a premium experience where I do all the heavy lifting. We meet, one to one, over 2 full-days in the location of YOUR choice, with one full day of rest in between. I take the raw materials excavated from sessions, analyze and curate the results to build your customized Category of One position and recommendations. The full, “done for you” version of the Category of One Process™ starts at $49,995 USD plus location costs (US, Canada, Central America-based location), or $69,995 USD plus location costs (all other locations in the world). These programs incorporate extraordinary settings for us to do this immersion together. Imagination, curation, and ‘Wow!’ are essential. My CoO immersion clients easily command a $50,000 USD+ appearance fee (in fact their average speaking fee is typically at or above this amount). As a result, they achieve full ROI on their initial investment in just one or two paid appearances, using the Category of One positioning I craft for them.
If your current appearance fee is highly variable or unestablished: My public, Category of One CAMP is an excellent option.
Campers invest the time and creative energy required to build something themselves. CAMP equips them to do that — using the tools I provide.
CAMP offers the foundation and roadmap I use in my bespoke immersion work. Together, with a maximum of 2 attendees per public CAMP session, you learn the 6-step process and complete step one, the most intensive one, GOLDMINING. You finish the remaining steps, self-paced, back home in the weeks and months that follow.
If you charge $5,000 – $15,000 per keynote or workshop appearance, using the Category of One positioning you create as a result of CAMP, you’ll recoup your full CAMP investment in just 1-3 appearances. You continue reaping financial rewards long afterward, and can revisit the process whenever you want to iterate a new product or service offering, or refresh an existing one. The 6-step Category of One Theory is a Swiss army knife tool that indefinitely delivers utility.
Like the concept of CAMP, but want to have my undivided attention for 2.5 days? I offer a private delivery of CAMP for $24,995, in Marblehead, and schedule it at a mutually convenient time. Click here to request additional details.
No matter how you apply the Category of One Process™ – you arrive at what makes you uniquely valuable in the world today — and leverage it to provide irreplaceable relief in the market.

Hi. I'm Amy. I created the Category of One process.
Category of One Camp
Camp is a 2.5-day workshop unlike any you’ve attended.
I call it ‘Camp’ because it is relaxed, fun, creative, and we get off all screens for 2.5 days. You’ll use giant markers, stickers, and huge sheets of paper. You’ll take up space. This is a refreshing contrast to living your life through a 4″ x 6″ rectangular tech device or computer screen which is how many of us spend our days.
It takes place in Marblehead MA, a gorgeous seaside village located one town away from Salem, MA and about 45 minutes from Boston’s Logan Airport.
You’ll participate in important work – work that begins together, in person, and culminates, over the weeks and months that follow, to distill your Category of One. Your Category of One is your unbeatable lane. Your best and highest contribution to the world as it stands right now. It is your most lucrative and natural fit for your valuable contribution to the people who need what ONLY you can offer. Use the results to get noticed, hired, and paid a premium. I want you to achieve all three.
Your Category of One exists in your irreplaceable overlap between your obsessions and paid expertise — and how you utilize that mashup to create deep relief in the world. Only you can offer the combination found in your Category of One.
- It requires work. You aren’t a stranger to work. Take each lesson as it comes and apply yourself to the task at hand. No half-measures allowed. You want the outcome to be magnificent. So do I. Work is our investment in that outcome.
- It requires openness and a blank slate. You may be tempted to arrive at Camp with your ‘positioning’ figured out and your keynote list in hand. This approach would be a mistake. Camp is about starting FRESH and open. For the duration of Camp, set aside what you THINK your positioning should be, or what it currently IS, to grant yourself the freedom to discover something suprising, far more powerful, and singular. If the process ultimately arrives at the position you held when you started, it would be a first in my 25 years of experience.
- It requires patience and commitment. You may be tempted to immediately jump to ‘I know what it is!’ when a great idea crosses your mind about your Category of One early in Camp. Write it down, but resist locking in early. The absolute BEST ideas will come from allowing each lesson and exercise to percolate. Resist the temptation to rush. Allow the golden threads of connection to form. After our in-person sessions are complete, you’ll need time to complete the remaining steps on your own. You’ll have complimentary access, bi-weekly, for 60 min on ZOOM, for a total of 12 sessions, spread out over the six months immediately following Camp. These sessions offer live, shared ‘office hours’ with me and other Category of One alums and current students to build community, share successes, ask questions, and keep momentum strong as you head to the finish line. By the end of Camp, you will have unearthed vital data about your credible expertise and gathered your personal obsessions and passionate interests. This information forms the foundation for the remainder of the process – which you complete back home, self-paced.
- It requires self-disclosure and candor. For the Category of One magic to work, you must answer the session prompts honestly. Candidly. Without squashing down the ‘real’ answer in favor of playing it safe. It may be uncomfortable. It may be emotional. It may be awkward. Be willing to allow that. The setting is a small group where confidentiality and discretion are required. Lean into that.
- It requires action. The Camp is interactive. Participation is required. The Category of One process begins with the foundation in-person in this camp. It will continue to unfold in the weeks and months that follow – through the continuation of the action items once you return home. If your involvement ceases at the end of Camp, you will cheat yourself out of the culmination of your effort. Don’t. Commit to the completion of the process. It will be worth it.
- It requires focus. The in-person element requires your mind to be fully present, not just your body. Cellphones must be off and left in the adjacent room while we are in session. If anyone needs to reach you for a true emergency, they will call my husband, Alf Wilson, on his cellphone and he will interrupt Camp to get you. We are bombarded in our daily lives with texts, calls, emails, DM’s, likes – you name it. Not during Camp. I’m putting an iron wall around our group focus during the sessions. Check in with the outside world during breaks or meals.
Campers are responsible for the following costs, in addition to their tuition:
- Attendee travel and lodging costs. Participants must book their own lodging and transportation. Recommended Airbnbs are located within 15-20 min walking distance, maximum, of the workshop location which is near the Barnacle Restaurant in Marblehead MA.
Airbnb ideas: CLICK this bold text to see Marblehead’s options within a 5-10 min walk of Camp (current as of July 8th, 2026 and subject to change.) Airbnb’s here rent QUICKLY. Don’t delay!
Click here for the Harbor Light Inn (located within 10 min. walking distance of Camp)
Click here for The Hotel Marblehead (car needed to get to/from Camp, 5 min ride, or 30 min walk).
Salem Massachusetts is another option for lodging – and a car would be needed to get to/from Camp (15 min drive each way). Let me know if you’d like lodging recommendations for Salem, I’m happy to help. - Airport transfers. You can easily catch an UBER from Logan Airport and the ride takes approximately 40 minutes outside of ‘rush hour). If you arrive between 3:30-6:30pm on a weekday, the ride could take 90 minutes due to commuter traffic heading out of Boston. When departing for the Airport, allow 40 minutes outside of rush hour. Between 6am – 8am or 3:30 – 6:30pm, allow 90 minutes. I recommend checking with the airline the day prior to your departure to find out how many hours ahead of your departure you should arrive at the airport.
- Amtrak: There is Amtrak train service into South Station in Boston from many points along the Eastern seaboard. I love taking the train. I wouldn’t recommend taking the commuter rail to Salem or Swampscott since it doesn’t connect to Amtrak service and is therefore very inefficient. I recommend that you UBER from South Station to Marblehead, approximately $70-80 plus tip, one-way, and arrange a return from Phil Padulsky (see below).
- If you’d like to book your airport transfers well ahead of time, I highly recommend texting my local ‘go-to’ Phil Padulsky. He charges $60 USD plus tip, cash, each way to/from Logan to/from Marblehead. Very reliable, cheerful and polite. Plus, he has a wonderful Boston accent and looks a bit like (younger) Michael Douglas. He can be reached at 617.240.3160 (personal cell, Eastern US timezone). Tell him Amy Gray sent ya! This is not a great option if you are unsure of your schedule in advance or want to make spur of the moment changes to your travel plans — in that case, I’d recommend booking an UBER or renting a car.
- Parking: Free, public parking is generally available on the residential streets near Camp, but Camp DOES NOT have on-site parking. Please allow yourself extra time (10-15 min) to find parking and walk to the Camp venue if you are self-driving.

Marblehead is gorgeous.
We often joke that Marblehead is a fairytale village….because it feels like that here. We’ve lived in Marblehead since 2012 and adore its history, walkability, quaint shops and views of the ocean. Come a few days early or stay a few days afterward. You’ll fall in love with this place.
The most successful speakers I've worked with share this
Each one offered a laser focus on their unique Category of One in their speaking and it ALWAYS included a major element of personal obsession. Your Category of One will combine obsession with credible expertise and market need. All three elements are required, with obsession holding highest importance. The folks who wrote these books have been an integral part of my work over the past 2.5 decades.
The less fun, but very important, details
Please read carefully to ensure you are aware of this information prior to registration for Camp.
Camp is a fantastic investment in Future You, your focused clarity, and guidance for toward personalized wealth creation. It is an intentionally space limited experience to ensure lots of personal attention. We commit to hosting Camp as soon as one (1) person registers, make non-refundable financial commitments, and turn away all activities that would conflict with Camp. Your attendance at Camp is a vital part of the in-person experience and your tuition is an integral part of our family’s income. All tuition due for your full registration at Camp is deemed fully earned as of the date of cancellation. Any balances due on your tuition, as of the date of cancellation, if any, must be paid in full. If the balance is not paid in full, all monies we have received at the time of cancellation will be forfeited as a cancellation fee. We don’t want that situation to apply — we want to give you the greatest value for your investment.
Waiver and Release of Liability:
All Camp participants must sign a waiver and release of liability provided by the owner of the Camp venue. This document will be provided upon receipt of your fully paid registration and must be received prior to the start of Camp. Failure to sign and return the waiver prior to the commencement of Camp will result in forfeiture of your tuition. Arrrghhh! No one wants that. This waiver is an essential document, so please be sure this requirement is completed prior to arrival at Camp. We will remind you.
Transfer of a Fully Paid Registration: Your best option if you must cancel.
If you have paid your full tuition balance for Camp, and you wish to transfer your registration to someone else of your choice:
Please provide us with the new attendee’s name and contact details no later than three (3) days prior to Camp, and ensure that this new attendee returns their signed venue waiver (see above) no later than the day prior to Camp. Once complete, all your paid in tuition will be applied to the new attendee’s registration. Easy breezy!
Replacement Attendee:
We turn away registrations once Camp is full — and while we do start a wait list in case spots open up, lost registrations are typically non-recoverable.
If you cancel, please let us know if you’d like us to attempt to find a replacement attendee or not.
Selecting this option waives your right to choose one of the options below, so please select this option only if you understand that getting a refund of any amount is contingent on our ability to secure a paid replacement attendee for your session at Camp. If you select this option, we will immediately attempt to confirm a replacement attendee at your session of Camp by contacting our wait list. If we are successful, we’ll issue you a refund, back to your original form of payment, up to the amount of the tuition you’ve paid, less any banking or processing fees levied by PayPal and/or our banking institution, if any, OR up to the amount of the new attendee registration amount, less any banking or processing fees levied by PayPal and/or our banking institution, whichever amount is LOWER. Because finding a replacement attendee is not guaranteed, and may require us to offer a discount, the amount of your refund can be anywhere from $0 (if we are unsuccessful in confirming a paid replacement), up to the full amount of tuition you’ve paid, less any banking or processing fees levied by PayPal and/or our banking institution (the maximum). We will make best efforts on our end to obtain a favorable outcome for you, but cannot make any guarantees.
If you forgo the possible replacement option, here’s what happens:
Upon receipt of your full tuition, you will receive a giant, pro-rated discount off a future version of Camp.
If you cancel your Camp registration more than ten (10) days before your session of Camp starts: Upon receipt of your full tuition, you’ll be granted a discount equal to 75% of the tuition you paid for Camp to apply to a future public Category of One Camp with space available, to be held in Marblehead MA, within six (6) months of the original Camp dates.
If you cancel your Camp registration less than ten (10) days before your session of Camp starts: Upon receipt of your full tuition, you’ll be granted a discount equal to 50% of the tuition you paid for Camp to apply to a future public Category of One Camp with space available, to be held in Marblehead MA, within six (6) months of the original Camp dates.
If there are no future public Camp dates with space available at the time of your cancellation:
Amy will provide you with a future public Camp date(s) within five (5) business days after the end of your currently scheduled Camp dates so you can register, or transfer your discount to a guest of your choice. The remaining balance due on the tuition for that future Camp date is due in full at the time of registration. Spots cannot be held without payment. Registration is confirmed once full payment is received and Amy sends back a written confirmation that your space is reserved at Camp. Please don’t make any non-refundable arrangements until you receive official written confirmation from Amy. Any discounts not applied toward a future Camp date in the allowed timeframe will expire, with no remaining discount available to apply to a future program. If you are unable to attend any of the available public Camp dates and you aren’t able to transfer your discount to another attendee in that timeframe, the offered discount, sadly, will expire.
If Amy is unable to host Camp due to an unavoidable emergency, you will receive a full refund of your paid tuition back to the original form of payment. We are not liable for any resulting non-refundable costs incurred by attendees due to emergency cancellation; therefore we recommend purchasing fully refundable/changeable options and/or trip insurance to guard against possible financial loss.
