
What Bureaus and Agents Wished You Knew
WHY BUREAUS JUST AREN’T INTO YOU: I receive about 5-10 cold emails each week from folks who want more bookings and think I run a speakers bureau (I understand the confusion!). I’m an independent speaker’s agent for a select handful of in-demand speakers who are also independent, but I do have decades of experience structuring deals with traditional speakers bureaus who hire my clients. I try to give the speakers who reach out a little advice on what could boost their chances of success — but 1:1 messaging is very inefficient for getting the word out.
