Amanda Palmer’s naked ambition

Her exhibitionism is well-established, so it’s no surprise that Amanda Palmer appears topless on the front of her forthcoming book. But the positioning of her hands keeps the cover G-rated. (The photos on her blog are another matter.) Called “The Art of Asking, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help,” the book is based on the Lexington-bred singer’s 2013 TED talk. (The talk has been viewed online over 5.8 million times, which bodes well for book.) Palmer, who’s married to writer Neil Gaiman, is a fairly polarizing figure: She has a rabid fan base but some find her relentless self-promotion off-putting. The book for Grand Central Publishing hits stores Nov. 11.
